Through the Dead City - (Update)

I’ve had a bit of time to work on smaller things this week. I changed the ground texture because I found the other one was a little too bright. I messed around with camera zoom, and made the gunshots quieter by default.

The main thing I’ve started working on is Squad stuff. I’ve added a HUD for the squad which displays the health, ammo, and gun type of each survivor in the squad. You’ll be able to give the survivors in your squad commands to defend positions or move in a specified formation.

July 26th Update

Well, I’ve finally added some sound. It’s my first time messing around with audio so it’s not very good at the moment. I’ll probably leave it for now, but I’ll definitely have to come back to that.

I’ve also changed the bullets to a shorter line segment that moves instead of the solid line from the gun to the target. Hopefully it’ll look less like the guns are shooting lasers now…

My next move will be to add some basic guns. Right now the survivors are all shooting at about 60 shots per second (1 shot per update/frame) from when I was testing hit detection. The firing rate and damage will be determined by the gun they are holding.

However, I’m going to be on vacation for about a week so it might be a little while before I post my next update.
